Terms of Service
These Terms govern your use of AllyLearns, an AI study companion for children managed by parents, teachers, and tuition centres. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
1. The service
AllyLearns provides AI-assisted homework help, learning sessions, quizzes, progress reports, and related portals. Features depend on your plan and role (parent, teacher, or organisation). We may improve, add, or remove features with reasonable notice when a change materially affects paid use.
2. Accounts and eligibility
- Adult accounts (parents, teachers, centre admins) must be created by someone with legal capacity to agree to these Terms. If you act for a school, tuition centre, employer, or other organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to bind it.
- Child and student profiles are managed by adults. Students sign in with credentials provided by a parent or teacher; they cannot open paid subscriptions themselves.
- Before providing a child's or student's personal data, you confirm that you are authorised to do so and have obtained any parent, guardian, school, or other consent required by law and your organisation's policies.
- You are responsible for keeping adult passwords secure and for activity under your account. Student password resets are performed by a parent or teacher in their portal.
- Provide accurate information. Do not impersonate others or create accounts for unauthorised use of a school or family's data.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use AllyLearns for illegal, harmful, or harassing activity.
- Attempt to bypass safety controls, rate limits, or billing restrictions.
- Upload or generate content that is abusive, sexually explicit involving minors, or otherwise inappropriate for a children's education product.
- Reverse engineer, scrape at scale, or disrupt the service except as allowed by law.
- Share login credentials in a way that compromises student safety.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.
4. Your responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- Supervising students appropriately for their age and circumstances, deciding whether the service is suitable, and keeping adult and student credentials secure.
- Reviewing AI-generated explanations, answers, grades, reports, and recommendations before relying on them or using them to make educational or other decisions.
- Following academic-integrity rules, assessment instructions, school policies, and applicable law, and ensuring that students do the work they are required to do.
- The content you submit, the instructions and permissions you give, and decisions or actions you take based on the service.
You understand that AI systems are probabilistic and may produce inaccurate, incomplete, inappropriate, or unexpected output. You voluntarily accept the ordinary risks of using an AI study aid and of relying on unverified output. This does not make you responsible for loss caused by our fraud, wilful misconduct, negligence, or any duty that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.
5. AI assistance disclaimer
AllyLearns uses artificial intelligence to guide study. Responses can be incomplete or incorrect. Adults remain responsible for supervising children's learning and for academic honesty policies at school. AllyLearns is a study aid, not a substitute for qualified teachers, medical advice, or emergency services.
6. Subscriptions and billing
Paid plans renew according to the price and interval shown at checkout unless you cancel. Free tiers include limited monthly homework, learning, quizzes, reports, and sessions as described on our Pricing page. Usage limits reset on the plan's billing cycle. Refunds, if any, follow the policy stated at purchase or required by applicable law. Organisation billing may be managed by the centre administrator.
7. Content and licences
You retain rights to content you submit (for example homework text). You grant us a licence to host, process, and display that content to provide the service, including AI processing needed for tutoring and reports. Tutor characters, software, branding, and documentation remain our property or that of our licensors.
8. Privacy
How we handle personal data, including children's learning data and our PDPA posture, is described in the Privacy Policy.
9. Availability and liability
We aim for reliable uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. To the fullest extent permitted by Singapore law, AllyLearns is provided "as is" and without implied warranties. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or loss-of-profit damages that were not reasonably foreseeable. Our aggregate liability for claims relating to the service is limited to the greater of the fees you paid us for the three months before the event giving rise to the claim or SGD 100. These exclusions and limits do not apply to death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, wilful misconduct, or any liability or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
10. Claims caused by your conduct
To the extent permitted by law, an organisation or business account holder will reimburse us for reasonable losses and third-party claims caused by its unlawful submitted content, its lack of authority or required consent for student data, or its material breach of these Terms. This does not apply to the extent a claim was caused by our negligence or wilful misconduct, and it does not reduce protections that apply to a consumer acting for personal or household purposes.
11. Termination
You may stop using AllyLearns and cancel paid plans from billing settings. We may suspend or close accounts for violations, non-payment, or risk to users. After termination, access to portals and stored sessions may end subject to legal retention needs and any export tools we provide.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. Courts of Singapore have exclusive jurisdiction, without limiting any non-waivable consumer protections that apply where you live.
13. Contact
